IIM and Concordia Plans
Interim pastors experience frequent moves from one congregation to another or "downtimes" between congregations. Congregations need to provide the interim pastor, as well as the next resident pastor, with benefits. In these unique situations Concordia Plan Services (CPS) is attempting to assist both pastors and congregations with a program that provides both consistency and greater security for IIP’s.
The CPS benefits program for IIP’s was updated as of January 1, 2019. The PowerPoint presentation accessed from the link below highlights those changes. Please note the distinct criteria that applies for those for IIP’s that are 65 years or older versus those under 65. Also, IIP’s still eligible for enrollment in the Concordia Health Plan now have a health plan option that will remain the same at each assignment. There are different legal and/or policy requirements that impact each of the Concordia Plans, therefore pastors and congregations should review their specific situations in order to avoid a negative impact on their benefits. IIP’s are encouraged to ensure their assigned congregational leadership understands the new program as well. Please call Concordia Plan Services to discuss your unique circumstances.
